Learning about balance in our life. Different poses means equal stretching on the left and right hand sides of our bodies making sure everything is in balance.
Kids need to be strong, but strong muscles with no flexibility cannot move quickly pulling on bones and joints. Yoga poses stretches muscles, and through breathing and movement become warm and more flexible.
We learn how to be still and quiet the mind. It assists kids to build a strong connection between what they hear and what they do.
Yoga is non-competitive and each child moves at their own pace. As they start to master the poses each week it gives them a sense of accomplishment. Positive affirmations makes them believe in themselves strengthening the mind and body connection.
Regular practice stretches and strengthens their bodies and muscles and increases blood flow. When we learn to breathe we bring peacefulness and good energy to our bodies.
